Most panel calls out here are not about something being broken. They are about a house that has had a lot added to it over the years and a panel that has not changed since the day it was energized.

The Woodlands is a township rather than an incorporated city, so permits go through Montgomery County. That part is routine for us.
The part people get caught by is the covenants. Anything that changes the outside of the house — a relocated meter, an exterior sub-panel, a generator pad, a charger on a visible wall — can need architectural review as well as a permit. We plan the work with that in mind and we will tell you up front if what you are asking for is going to need it, rather than finding out after the equipment is on the wall.
When the meter has to come off, CenterPoint sets the schedule, not us. We coordinate the disconnect and reconnect and we tell you which day the power is out and roughly for how long. Nobody enjoys that day. It goes better when it is planned.
Do the calculation first. It is the cheapest step in the job.
